Looking for chicken long rice on Oʻahu? At Waiāhole Poi Factory, we serve this traditional Hawaiian favorite as a side, a bowl entrée, or part of a Hawaiian plate. Whether you want something simple for lunch or a meal with several Hawaiian dishes, our menu gives you different ways to enjoy it.
Our Chicken Long Rice combines chicken and rice noodles in a ginger and chicken broth. It's a familiar dish at Hawaiian gatherings, and one we continue to share through our family-run restaurant in Waiāhole Valley and our second location at Windward Mall.
If you're deciding what to order, here's what to expect from our Chicken Long Rice and how to choose the option that suits your meal.
What Goes Into Our Chicken Long Rice?
Chicken long rice is known for its noodles and savory broth. Unlike a typical rice dish, the noodles are thin strands that soften as they cook, giving the dish its characteristic texture.
Our Chicken Long Rice features chicken and rice noodles served in a ginger and chicken broth. The ginger gives the broth its recognizable flavor, while the noodles and chicken make it a satisfying dish without the richer flavors of our pork and beef entrées.
We include Chicken Long Rice among the traditional Hawaiian foods on our menu, alongside Laulau, Kalua Pig, Beef Lu'au, and Squid Lu'au.
You can enjoy it on its own or as part of a plate with other Hawaiian favorites.
Choosing Between a Chicken Long Rice Bowl, Plate, or Side
One of the most useful things to know before ordering is that our Chicken Long Rice comes in several menu formats. Each offers a different combination of dishes.
Chicken Long Rice Bowl

If you want Chicken Long Rice as your main entrée with rice, our Bowl is a straightforward choice.
Our Bowl includes one entrée and white rice. Chicken Long Rice is one of the available entrée selections.
Unlike our Single and Combo Plates, the Bowl comes with rice only. Poi is not offered as a substitute in this format.
Single Plate With Chicken Long Rice
Our Single Plate is a good option when you want Chicken Long Rice with traditional Hawaiian sides.
Choose Chicken Long Rice as your entrée, then select either rice or poi. The plate also includes Lomi Salmon and Haupia.
This gives you an opportunity to enjoy the ginger broth and noodles alongside the different flavors and textures of a Hawaiian plate.
Combo Plate With Chicken Long Rice

If you want to try Chicken Long Rice alongside another Hawaiian entrée, our Combo Plate lets you choose two.
You can pair Chicken Long Rice with Kalua Pig, Laulau, Beef Lu'au, or Squid Lu'au.
Like our Single Plate, the Combo Plate includes your choice of rice or poi, along with Lomi Salmon and Haupia.
For those who enjoy the contrast between the broth-based Chicken Long Rice and a richer entrée, this is a practical way to order both.
Kanaka Nui: Chicken Long Rice and More

For a plate featuring several traditional Hawaiian dishes, we offer the Kanaka Nui, also known as "The Works!"
It includes Laulau, Kalua Pig, and Chicken Long Rice, plus your choice of Beef Luau or Squid Luau. You'll also choose rice or poi, with Lomi Salmon and Haupia included.
Rather than choosing Chicken Long Rice as your sole entrée, you can enjoy it as part of a larger Hawaiian meal.
Chicken Long Rice as a Side
Already decided on another entrée but still want Chicken Long Rice?
We also offer it separately from our plates and bowls. This allows you to add Chicken Long Rice to your order without changing your main entrée selection.
You can compare all these options on our Hawaiian food menu.
