How Much Does a Hawaiian Plate Lunch Cost on Oʻahu?

When you're hungry and searching for a Hawaiian plate lunch near you, knowing what's included can make choosing lunch easier. Do you want one entrée with rice? A complete Hawaiian plate with traditional sides? Or a larger plate with several different dishes?

At Waiāhole Poi Factory, our menu gives you a few ways to enjoy traditional Hawaiian food at different price points.

Our rice bowls start at $11.90, while our Single Plate is $16.80 and includes your choice of Rice or Poi, along with Lomi Salmon and Haupia. For a larger selection, we also offer Combo Plates and our Kanaka Nui, known as "The Works!"

Here's what you can expect from each option and how to choose a Hawaiian lunch that fits your appetite and budget.

Hawaiian Plate Lunch Prices: What You Get for Your Money

One of the easiest ways to compare our menu options is to look beyond the price and see exactly what comes with each order.

Menu Item Published Price What's Included
Bowl $11.90 One eligible entrée with rice
Single Plate $16.80 One entrée, Rice or Poi, Lomi Salmon, and Haupia
Combo Plate $20.30 Two entrées, Rice or Poi, Lomi Salmon, and Haupia
Kanaka Nui $29.95 Laulau, Kalua Pig, Chicken Long Rice, Beef Luau or Squid Luau, Rice or Poi, Lomi Salmon, and Haupia

Prices reflect our published menu as of October 2026 and may change. Check current pricing when ordering.

The main difference isn't simply portion size. It's how many Hawaiian dishes you'd like included in your meal and whether you want the traditional sides.

For example, our Bowl gives you a rice-based meal without the additional plate sides. Our Single Plate includes Lomi Salmon and Haupia, making it a different dining option rather than just a larger bowl.

You can review all four choices on our current Hawaiian food menu.

Looking for a Hawaiian Lunch Under $15?

If you'd like to keep your food order below $15 before any applicable taxes or fees, our $11.90 Bowl is a place to start.

Choose one of these entrées:

Each Bowl comes with rice.

Our Kalua Pig is slow-cooked and smoked for twelve hours, then shredded and seasoned with Hawaiian sea salt. Chicken Long Rice is made with chicken and rice noodles in a ginger broth.

If you're deciding between the two, think about whether you're in the mood for smoked pork or a dish with broth and noodles.

One important detail: Laulau isn't offered as a Bowl entrée, and Bowls come with rice rather than poi.

If Laulau or Poi is what you're specifically looking for, one of our plate options may be a better fit.

What Can You Order for Under $20?

Our Single Plate is $16.80 and includes more components than the Bowl.

You can select one entrée from Kalua Pig, Laulau, Chicken Long Rice, Beef Luau, or Squid Luau.

Your plate also comes with:

  • Your choice of Rice or Poi
  • Lomi Salmon
  • Haupia

This makes the Single Plate a practical choice when you have one particular Hawaiian dish in mind but also want the traditional sides.

For someone craving Laulau, for example, the Single Plate offers a way to enjoy it with Poi or Rice, along with Lomi Salmon and Haupia, without ordering several entrées.

And because Poi is available as a starch choice, you can enjoy it as part of your plate without ordering a separate side.

When Is the Combo Plate Worth Choosing?

Our Combo Plate costs $20.30 and includes two entrées instead of one.

You also receive your choice of Rice or Poi, along with Lomi Salmon and Haupia.

The difference between the $16.80 Single Plate and the $20.30 Combo Plate is $3.50 based on our published menu prices.

That additional amount gives you a second entrée choice.

If you're choosing between Kalua Pig and Laulau, for example, the Combo Plate lets you order both rather than deciding on just one.

You can also combine Beef Luau and Chicken Long Rice or explore another pairing from our five available entrées.

The Combo Plate makes sense when you want variety within one order. The Single Plate may be more suitable when you're already set on one favorite.

When to Order the Kanaka Nui

At $29.95, the Kanaka Nui is our largest listed plate selection.

It includes:

  • Laulau
  • Kalua Pig
  • Chicken Long Rice
  • Your choice of Beef Luau or Squid Luau
  • Rice or Poi
  • Lomi Salmon
  • Haupia

We call it "The Works!" because it brings several of our traditional Hawaiian dishes together in one order.

While the Combo Plate lets you choose two entrées, the Kanaka Nui includes a wider selection without needing to order multiple individual plates.

It's an option when your priority is trying a range of dishes rather than keeping your lunch order below a particular price.

Want to Add Something to Your Plate?

You don't have to order another complete meal to enjoy an additional Hawaiian favorite.

Our menu also offers individual sides. Here are a few published prices:

Side Price
Poi $3.50
Laulau $9.00
Chicken Long Rice $10.50
Kalua Pig $11.90
Beef Lu'au $11.90
Lomi Salmon $6.10
Haupia $4.50

Prices are based on our October 2026 published menu and are subject to change.

Ordering a side separately can be useful when you already have a favorite plate but want an additional serving of something.

If you're buying food for more than one person, individual sides also give you flexibility without requiring everyone to choose the same meal.

Don't Forget Dessert When Planning Your Budget

If you'd like something sweet after your plate lunch, we have several options beyond the Haupia included with our traditional plates.

Our signature Sweet Lady of Waiahole combines warm, house-made Kulolo with Haupia Ice Cream.

It's available in two sizes:

  • Single scoop of ice cream: $8.40
  • Double scoop of ice cream: $10.50

We also serve Kulolo on its own. Made with taro root, coconut milk, and sugar, our Kulolo is steamed for twenty-four hours.

A 3-ounce scoop is listed at $4.80.

If you're planning your lunch budget, consider whether you'd like dessert as part of your order or prefer to keep things simple with the Haupia already included in your plate.
